It was such a joy to work with Barbara on a panel for our chapel door to expand on the panels she had created earlier for the chapel altar. The room's earlier history was to house a pool table, so creating sacred space in a spiritually inclusive way was from the beginning a challenge.

The flat solid door was a boundary which failed to reach out and welcome those who passed by. She took an idea from a hanging,  incorporated the arched shape of the altar panels, and crafted the window into a specialty door, as well as personally executing the installation at the entrance to the chapel. This "Little Jewel" is used and appreciated by residents and visitors probably even more than we know. It serves as an eloquent statement of the spirit of this community.
